Jean Norton VanDerKamp
Jean Norton VanDerKamp offers HeartSong Awakenings as a Therapeutic Music Practice. She is a Certified Clinical Musician through Harp for Healing’s Clinical Musician Certification Program, and may offer a ministry of presence with music at the bedside in health care institutions, and group and individual sessions.
Now virtually, continuing a retreat ministry that began over 30 years ago, Jean brings the therapeutic harp to Sacred Conversations with Music: Viritual sessions for ministers and others processing the effects of racism and homophobia. In these sessions, Jean listens with a chaplain's heart, then offering therapeutic harp music into the sacred space of the story shared.
Jean has an M. Div. from Union Theological Seminary in NYC and has served as a pastor, board-certified staff chaplain, minister of music and pipe organist, musical theater musical director and equine specialist in Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Ordained in the United Church of Christ and a professional musician, Jean is a member of Howard Congregational United Church of Christ in Nashville.
